How to find your balance: This time I am talking about yoga

I was a yoga newbie at one point and boy is it a metaphor for life. I went in the first time and really struggled with the positions, as many people do when they first try something new. Even after practicing for some time, I still have to work really hard. But I am doing it!

Watching other people around me and thinking they are so much better has of course come into my mind, but I’ve learned that when my brain is clear, I can focus on exactly where I am and accept that. It’s all worth it because I know what I am doing for my body and my soul.

When we try new things we have never done before, it takes, time, persistence, consistency and commitment to become comfortable and competent. Why do we get upset with ourselves that we cannot complete the task with perfection when we have never done it?

It's ok to not know what you are doing. You can't learn something new if you think you know everything. Be patient. Slow and steady is the path to mastery.

With the accomplishment of every new yoga pose comes a newfound confidence that translates beyond my yoga practice and this is so true in so many other areas of my life, as well.

You deserve to feel those same feelings and accept and embrace exactly where you are in your life today.
